My personal "Amazing Race"

After school, I got in the car with Jarka who had to go to a dentist appointment and take care of some things.  She dropped me at the corner of the metro station and said she would meet me at half past six at the pony tail.
I asked for a little more information about the "pony tail" and she said it was at the museum stop on the metro, actually a very significant place in Czech history.  Well as soon as she said it's easy to find because it's in Wenceslas Square, I panicked internally -- thinking nooooooo - Sarah and I searched for Wenceslas Square for hours . . .
I didn't have too much time to worry, because I needed to figure out how to get back to the hotel.

As I walked down into the metro station, it took me 5 minutes to realize I couldn't use the machines to purchase a ticket.  I wandered around until I found a ticket booth where I purchased a 72 hour all access ticket.

I attempted to follow the metro to the trolly to the bus (Jarka wrote out the directions, gave me a map, told me ten times) -- but . . . you guessed it  . . . I got a bit mixed up.  Ended up in a lovely park as I talked with Dave -- I thought I would look for the hotel with the red roof -- right, every roof is red.  I asked a couple shop owners, who pretended not to understand me.  I remember that Mary suggested I ask young people for directions, since they typically speak English and that worked very well.  One very nice young lady was helpful in the metro, to the extent of running over to grab me before I got on the wrong train.  Another young man explained how the system worked.  It was even more challenging because stops were changed due to the Chinese Presidential visit.
It truly was a beautiful day and I was able to get some fresh air and some exercise.  Here's a smidgen of my attempt to find my way back to the hotel.  Dave recommended using google maps, which was ultimately how I found my way back both this afternoon and this evening.

It really was a beautiful day.
